Chocolate Chip Cookies (Shortening and Butter)

Ingredients
  

  • 1/3 cup soft shortening
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 6 ounces chocolate pieces

Instructions
 

  • Mix the shortening, butter, sugars, egg and vanilla thoroughly in a bowl.
  • Stir together the flour, baking soda and salt.
  • Mix the dry ingredients into the shortening mixture.
  • Add the chocolate pieces.
  • Drop onto an ungreased baking sheet.
  • Bake 10 minutes at 350°F.
